In mathematics, a Mobius strip is a surface that can be created by joining the ends of a strip of paper together with a half-twist. In Shanghai, numerous bridges, towers, and arks draw inspiration from the Mobius strip, captivating visitors. Here are three noteworthy attractions influenced by this unique geometric form.

1. Infinite Bridge at Starry Sky

Adjacent to the Shanghai Astronomy Museum, Starry Sky is Shanghai's largest sponge park that offers a celestial experience akin to being in outer space. Designed with a cosmic theme, the park features structures resembling celestial bodies. Central to the park's allure is the Infinite Bridge, inspired by the Mobius strip, which symbolizes the vast universe. Its light and elegant design seamlessly blends with its surroundings, creating a futuristic ambiance.

Located in Pudong New Area's Dishui Lake, Bridge E stands out as a Mobius strip-inspired structure where the deck and roof seamlessly merge, forming a ribbon-like shape. The bridge's design incorporates matrix-style hexagonal tiles, creating an intriguing passage for pedestrians to traverse the bend, adding a touch of playfulness to the lake.

3. Mobius Park (under construction)

The science-themed Mobius Park of the new World Laureates Association (WLA) Science Community will open to the public this year, along with the life sciences center and artificial intelligence science center.

Mobius Park will feature science-related elements and engravings named after notable scientists, as well as a Jiangnan-style garden.

The park will offer recreational spaces, commercial facilities, zero-carbon buildings and a transportation hub, aiming to be a top commercial and cultural center.

Construction is nearly complete, with the opening planned for August.
