The Lin-gang Special Area, as a coastal area in East China's Shanghai, is where each day the promise of dawn can be witnessed earliest in the city.

Lin-gang was included in the Shanghai free trade zone and became a special area for China’s further reform and opening-up when it was officially launched on Aug 20, 2019 – and it is just about to celebrate its second birthday.

Two years after Lin-gang became a torchbearer for China's reform and opening-up, the port area on the East China Sea now leads the way in the country's efforts to build a modern city with open innovation, smart ecosystem, vibrant industries and livable and business-friendly environment.
