Shanghai's Yangshan Port streamlines cross-domain processing

The Yangshan Port Maritime Safety Administration, or MSA – located in East China's Shanghai – had a watershed moment on Jan 11.

That was in the wake of the successful two-week implementation of the Yangtze River Delta Maritime Affairs Cross-Domain Processing program.

The bureau's service center processed a batch of checklist items – issuing 45 certificates for wreckage removal liability insurance and 45 certificates for ship oil pollution damage civil liability insurance.

The cross-domain processing initiative in the Yangtze River Delta streamlines maritime services for the public, providing efficient and nearby assistance.

The Yangshan Port MSA, as part of the initiative, has  completed 18 major and 34 minor checklist items, facilitating quick processing of vessels in the region.

What's more, the Yangshan Port MAS is offering convenient options such as direct mail deliveries or collection services at the cross-domain processing window, eliminating the need for unnecessary travel, reducing costs and shortening processing times for applicants.

Moving forwards, as the Yangshan Port MSA continues its efforts, it will aim to introduce more innovative measures, particularly focusing on simplifying processes related to vessels and crew members.

The ultimate goal is to boost the satisfaction of both port and navigation enterprises by addressing concerns and challenges being faced by the public.
