Two enterprises from the Lin-gang Special Area's Overseas Returnees Entrepreneurship Park recently clinched the top honors at the ninth Overseas Chinese Student Entrepreneurship Competition held on July 14.

Shanghai Kang Ma Healthcode Intelligent Technology claimed the first prize for their "D2PLAB New Protein Molecule AI Intelligent Manufacturing System", a significant achievement in protein design through AI algorithms. Gluetacs Therapeutics won third place for their "Construction of Protein Degradation Technology Platform (GlueTacs IV)".

The Lin-gang Special Area has consistently strived to provide a nurturing environment for overseas Chinese student entrepreneurs. Several measures, including increased support for registration and operations, office housing subsidies, and employee housing benefits, have been implemented. The area's focus on entrepreneurship and innovation policies has further bolstered the growth of innovation parks. The Shanghai Overseas Returned Scholars branch in Lin-gang currently plays a vital role in establishing a comprehensive talent exchange circle. The branch now has nearly 800 members.

The industry-city integration zone of Lin-gang Special Area presently has over 160 enterprises, approximately 75 percent of which are from the biomedicine, artificial intelligence, integrated circuits, and other cutting-edge industries.

Twenty-five percent of the enterprises have been recognized as specialized entities producing innovative products in Shanghai or at a national level.

In 2022, the combined revenue of enterprises in the park exceeded 3 billion yuan ($0.42 billion).

Lin-gang has also attracted a pool of highly educated individuals, with the majority possessing master's or doctoral degrees. Many of them have also studied in developed economies such as the United States and Europe.
