The Lin-gang Special Area in East China's Shanghai, the Lingang Group and the Hong Kong Quantum AI Lab Ltd signed a memorandum of understanding on April 26 to boost their cooperation and the digitalization of the new energy sector there.

With the introduction of cutting-edge technology and the addition of the know-how of the Hong Kong Quantum AI Lab, they're set to construct a multi-scale digital platform – integrating advanced artificial intelligence, big data, quantum chemistry computational methods and electrochemical simulation models.

The platform will serve various aspects of the new energy industry supply chain.

Not only will it help companies break free from the slow trial-and-error development path dependent on experiments, but it's also expected to break down barriers between different segments of the industry supply chain through the establishment of digital standards.

The aim is to address challenges such as energy density and battery safety, thus enhancing the efficiency of battery product developments and reducing research and development costs.

It's hoped it will ultimately establish digital standards and safety evaluation systems for batteries, creating a new energy digitalization center with international competitiveness.
