Lin-gang, Austrian province forge strategic partnership

The Lin-gang Special Area in East China's Shanghai and Austria's northern province of Upper Austria signed a cooperation agreement on April 17.

Upper Austria, known for its manufacturing sector, is seeking to join forces with Lin-gang in various areas. The event, called the "Eurostar · Entering Lin-gang", marked the occasion – highlighting potential partnerships in industry, education and research.

Upper Austria's Chamber of Commerce and Lin-gang's administration signed a memorandum of cooperation, aiming to deepen their collaboration. The partnership aims to explore joint ventures in industries like new energy vehicles and high-end equipment. It also seeks to enhance Sino-foreign educational cooperation and foster a dynamic research ecosystem.

The agreement is expected to consolidate the growing ties between Austria and Lin-gang, setting the stage for further exchanges and cooperation.

During the event, the Shanghai Zhangjiang InnoPark Development Company – also known as the Zhangjiang Group – and the Austrian Consulate General in Shanghai unveiled a partnership. This showcased the potential for expanded collaboration in Zhangjiang's innovation ecosystem.

Representatives from Austrian academia and industry – including the Johannes Kepler University Linz and top automation companies – exchanged ideas with their Chinese counterparts, paving the way for future collaborations.
