In pics: A glimpse into the amazing new Lin-gang Center
The permanent venue for the World Laureates Association, or WLA Forum – an annual gathering in East China's Shanghai of top scientists from around the world since 2018 – was opened in the Lin-gang Special Area in the city on Nov 4 and it was named the Lin-gang Center.
It consists of theaters, libraries, science exhibition halls and hotels and is set to become an international community for global communications and cooperation in science and technology for some of the globe's leading minds.

The cutting-edge solar panels are arranged in a spectacular fashion on the metal roof of the exhibition area on the north side and on the lighting atrium roof of the hotel podium on the south side, forming row upon row of moving "feathers". With this design, the building is both beautiful and energy saving. [Photo/WeChat ID: shlgguanweihui]
The building's extraordinary two sections resemble giant wings that are spread out towards the city, giving the impression that it's about to take to the sky. [Photo/WeChat ID: shlgguanweihui]
