Shanghai Ocean University – located in the Lin-gang Special Area in East China's Shanghai – recently held a seminar on promoting the integration of industry and education and representatives from 35 key business partners attended.

An industry-education integration training center was unveiled at the seminar, with 16 enterprises moving into the facility.

In addition, the college engaged a group of industry mentors from enterprises to further expand its practical teaching.

Benchmarked against the industry structure of the Lin-gang Special Area, the college has set up majors such as intelligent manufacturing and integrated circuits design and manufacturing. It has also developed an innovative teaching model, called pre-employment with cooperative enterprises. The retention rate of students involved in the project is said to have reached 90 percent.

What's more, in May the college started a pilot class with Shanghai's HLMC Co Ltd for the graduates of 2023, providing opportunities for student internships and employment.
